BUT I FINALLY GOT A PHOTO WITH MY WHOLE FAMILY (plus some extra family members) and that was super exciting.. I wasn't feeling so great still at the beginning, so I didn't eat much, but it's all good.. I'll have to put up the pictures later...
BUT BASICALLY I got dos besos from sooooo many people (cute boy family members included...) and there were so many names to remember.. Yolanda, Irene (an adorable little baby who was BLONDE WITH BLUE EYES and they were all like SHE LOOKS MORE LIKE AN AMERICAN THAN A SPANIARD), Sergio, Miguel, Javier, Pepi.. could not keep track of who was related to who how.. and there were delicious desserts.. something called a BRAZO DE GITANA (gyspy arm?) and other flan-like turron things?? Soft ones? Custardy? I have no idea what the names were...
whateva whateva, it was fun! Everything's all cleaned up now.. but ya! Wish I could have spoken more...
Ooh! At one point, Roque, the husband of my host mom's sister (also named Teresa).. well, he's known for being a joker.. and he came up to be me and said something like 'RACHEL. It's a tradition that the most recent addition to the family has to sing the birthday song..' And I was like 'Oh?' .. and he was like 'THAT'S YOU!'... And as soon as I realized he was joking that I sing in front of all these people, I forget my spanish and go 'ME?!?!!' And everyone laughs (including all the cute boys whose EYES ARE ON ME RIGHT NOW HEHEHE), and he's like 'Yup!' and then my abuela comes over and says something like 'But she really does sing, you know!' .... I didn't end up having to sing, but it was exciting to be the center of attention for a second :P
