WHAT A GREAT FEW HOURS

So first, we had lunch around 3:30, and I had already started when THE BOYZ (Father and Sons) came back from kayaking (in the RAIN). Today was a very fishy lunch. I found out that those one fish that I had to pick the SPINES OUT OF are actually anchovies (I thought the name for anchovies was anchoa, which it is, but it's ALSO 'boqueron' .. WOO. -_-). There was that merluza, fried calamari, enormous shrimps with the eyes and legs still on o.O I ate EVERYTHING. AND THEN I BRUSHED MY TEETH.

But anyway, today was THE FIRST MEAL EVER that my host brothers sat with me at the table (they usually sit on the couch). Carlos started setting the table and was like We're all gonna eat here today and I WAS SO HAPPY.

So anyway, they were all talking about whatever, and of course the brothers were wearing no shirts! I asked how piraguismo (kayaking) was and Carlos was like SO MUCH AIR. AND THEN IT RAINED AND WE GOT ALL WET. (this is all in spanish btw)

And then somehow Family Guy came up but in spanish it must be like Padre de la Familia.. and they were talking about the evil monkey and everything and all I could think was AHHH THEY LIKE FAMILY GUY I LIKE FAMILY GUY WE MUST BE FAMILY GUYS. heh

And then Teresa (abuela) was like, going up and down getting food and washing things except she was in some pain and they were all being cute like GRANDMA GO TO BED WE'LL WASH EVERYTHING DONT WORRY JUST GO! And that was sweet.

AND THEN FERNANDO (dad) was like Soraya is at some Cafe Bar with some family, do you wanna come? And I was like sure!

SO AFTER LUNCH THAT'S WHERE WE WENT AND I MET SO MANY FAMILY MEMBERS AND FINALLY GOT A PICTURE WITH MY HOST PARENTS AT LEAST. And they bought me 2 tintos and 2 cervezas lololol. And there were cute children! And the family asked me where I was from and I was like Connecticut! And they said what do they call people from Connecticut? And I was like I dunno maybe CONNECTIKITTIES. LIKE GATOS. GATITOS. I had to explain but they laughed after (I swear!). But as people were getting MORE INTOXICATED I UNDERSTOOD MUCH MUCH LESS BECAUSE SPANISH IS HARD ENOUGH WHEN THE WORDS AREN'T SLURRED. But I still had a lot of fun :)

Heh and at one point there was a toast, and the brother-in-law put his drink back on the table before drinking it, and then looked at me, so I did the same thing, and he was like 'Do you know why?' (but in Spanish) and I was like HAH YEAH I DO.

Also, I don't know if everyone was very drunk, or it's just that everyone was so excited to be with each other that they were talking SUPER FAST AND SUPER LOUD.. but the one thing I understood, was that Soraya's sister Teresa took out her phone and showed me this picture of a HOT SHIRTLESS MAN ON THE BEACH and was like THIS MAN IS REAL. WE TOOK THIS PICTURE. HE'S NOT A MODEL. And then they were freaking out about how good looking he was, and Soraya was like HAVE MY BABIES loooooooooool with Fernando right there which was hilarious.. and then they called Teresa's daughter to confirm he was real... and that's really all I understood heheheheh.

Also, calling someone a 'fattie' isn't really a mean thing here. Fernandito kept calling Carlos that.. 'gordito'... i thought it was rather hilarious and cute!
