So I went to my psych class today and we were talking about 'locutive functions'... which are like.. there are phrases that can be taken literally or metaphorically. And Frank (the professor) gave an example (in Spanish) - 'I want to go to your house to see your stamp collection' = I WANT TO HAVE SEX. lololol It was very funny because it was out of nowhere
THEN AFTER THAT I had interest group stuff.. we had some 'improv' class where we had ice breaker games by saying our name weirdly and having everyone repeat it.. And then, we're making some video with our hands dancing over the map of spain with a song called 'Shooting Star' by Bag Raiders... it's cute, it's like Abraham's baby...
THEN CLARO we went out for a bit to some bar that started off really empty and fun and then all of a sudden EVERYONE WAS THERE AND THE ATMOSPHERE WAS CROWDED AND EXCITING. And I asked Nacho about my AWKWARDNESS at the Festival de naciones and HE SAID HE DIDNT EVEN RECOGNIZE US. Like, he knew people were watching him and he couldn't figure out who they were.. So that actually makes me feel better that he didn't see my awkwardness. And we were all talking about movies, and music and SPANISH and EVERYTHING and they are SO FUN and they're like LET'S HANG OUT ON THE WEEKEND and we're like YEEAEEEAAASSS PLEASE! I like them a lot!
BUT THEN ON OUR WAY HOME HAHAHAHA.. we were by Puerte Jerez, and all of a sudden a Spanish boy asks us something. We can't understand him at all so we're laughing and we explain we can't understand when he talks so fast. It turns out he and his cousin were looking for a place to Botellon so we were trying to tell them how to get to where we just came from but we were having DIFFICULTIES so first we tried drawing it and then we were like WHATEVER WE'LL JUST WALK BACK WITH YOU. So we walked with them and asked them about their lives, they're from Cordoba studying at the University of Sevilla (their first year.. their first week in Sevilla.. so for ONCE we knew more than the Spaniards!). AND OMG I USED SO MUCH VOSOTROS CONJUGATION. SO PROUD. They said we speak spanish well. HAH. We used some spanglish too. It was funny, when we were having issues, one of them (They were Rafa and Pablo..), Rafa, said 'We can speak in English if you like' and then I started talking in english and HE GAVE ME THE DEER IN HEADLIGHTS AND WAS LIKE WOOOOOAH GO SLOWER!
So that made me feel great hahah. And then we pointed them in the right direction after getting to La Plaza de San Francisco and exchanged FACEBOOKS because we want ALLLL THE SPANISH FRIENDS.
So that was a nice little adventure.
YAY FUN YAY
'DUFFIN DAGELS' - I passed this place yesterday when my class had a little excursion... it looks exactly like Dunkin Donuts except this is its name. Perfect.
Edit: Upon telling my friends about helping SPANIARDS get around Seville, Caitlin said, 'Well, at least we're better than Spanish freshmen...' FROOOOSHHH
