EVERY TIME I know I'm going to meet with my intercambio I get so nervous but every time we meet I have a great time (this was only the second time luuuuulz). But still! I think it's because CIEE was STUPID and joked about how 'everyone finds their boyfriends/girlfriends with the intercambio' and that made me feel pressured like it was a date or something and I HATE THOSE. lololol So of course I was all nervous again tonight and I then I meet Juan and we're just talking about stuff and everything is fine!
We went to Fundición (a bar that has FREE SANGRIA for the chicas and beer pong on Tuesdsays), and I had a couple sangrias, and he knew like a GILLION people there so I got to meet people! It was really loud in there so I couldn't hear much but what I did hear I could understand for the most part! So that was good!
And I told him that Delaney was coming on Friday and I wanted to show her a good time in Sevilla and he's like we can pregame and then go out and have a good time! And I'm like YAY PERFECTO porque I wanna show her a good time AND show her that I have Spanish friends!
Yay yay yay
I should keep this post as a REMINDER TO ME to not be a nervous awkward weirdo before I leave to see my intercambio. RACHEL RECUERDA QUE SIEMPRE YOU HAVE A GOOD TIME!
Stupid.
And I got a lot of practice in Spanish, as always! I hope this means I'm getting better. I told him that I went to join the choir, and he's like OOH I play piano! And he told me to watch a few Spanish movies.. Torrente (which is like a detective comedy movie that has like 3 sequels bahah) and Tres Metros Sobre el Cielo (which is a LOOOOVE story)..
At one point we were talking about siblings, and he was like I have a brother who looks completely the opposite from me - short, blonde, blue eyes, gordito! And I was like 'Are you sure he's your brother?' And he said something like WELL I ACTUALLY I always joke that he's the son of the milkman (but it wasn't the milkman.. it was some other Spanish man that back in the old days came to deliver some sort of product right to your home..) But yanno how in English we're like 'Well what does the milkman look like?' when a baby doesn't look like the father.... hehe well i think this was the same idea HA
and I told him I wanted to buy a cookbook so I could bring it home to the US and he told me the name of one but I don't remember it.. he said he'd write it down for me.. I'll have to remind him!
And yeah, he was seeing so many people he knew! When we left I was like wowww qué popular! And then he got all bashful and was like No no no no lo creas! Apparently he takes Salsa-dancing classes and recognized someone from that.. no sé. But yay!
OH and let me just mention that when we left, I asked him if he had to be up early the next morning and he said YEAH SIX AM... What a champ.. he's the one who asked me to go out tonight.. we left after 1 so that's MAX under five hours of sleep.. a champ indeed hahaha I was like LO SIENTO and he said nono I don't mind! Good practice! (Cause he spoke more English today but that's okay because he spoke in English and I like.. instinctively answered in Spanish... so that's good!!!)
Todo es buena! (está buena? I have no clue... ugh)
