Heheh!

So I went to leave the house at around 8:40 to meet up with Alison and Nacho and his friend Fernando, and right before I left.. I could hear in the living room area my brothers watching some movie that sounded very scary or gory or something.. from the noises I heard.. And so I walked through the kitchen and went to peak around the corner to say Adios, and Carlos must've seen me in the corner of his eye, but wasn't expecting me to be there, because he looked at me and JUMPED AND AUDIBLY GASPED and I started laughing and saying Perdon perdon! And it was really funny. And then I said Hasta luego!

So we met up with Nacho and then Fernando came, and we went to Cien Montaditos for a lil snack and 1€ tinto! And we were talking about lots of things, it was fun! Books, movies, life, blahblhalhb. I really like Nacho and all his friends we've met! And the fact that we meet so many friends and speak lots of Spanish!

I learned the word 'cache'.. it's like prestige, or cachet (which I don't even know in English..) But I guess he was like, OH YOU'RE LOSING YOUR CACHE IN ENGLISH because now you speak a hybrid of English and Spanish.. I don't completely understand, I don't know.

We also learned that 'to cheat on someone' is 'poner los cuernos' or 'put the horns' ... And so like.. If a girl cheated on her boyfriend, Ella le pone los cuernos - she put horns on him... And I guess there's this THING that spaniards do, kinda like how in photos, we do bunny ears? Well they do Bull horns (it's like the I Love You sign minus the thumb..pinky and pointer out and about!), and it's sort of a meanish joke (but it's not really mean among friends) that means like HAHAHA YOU HAVE BULL HORNS YOUR GIRLFRIEND CHEATED ON YOU HAHA SUCKS

Apparently it came from way back when, in like.. feudalism times.. When a man and woman wanted to marry, they needed permission from their lord, and the lord had the right to take the virginity of the woman before she married the man, and when the lord did that, he would give the man a pair of bullhorns, or deer antlers, to hang above his mantel or something.. WEIRD.

And when I came back, I felt kinda bad because none of the adults were home when I left and I didn't tell the boys whether I'd be eating here or not, so they didn't know, so Soraya was like Have you eaten?! And I was like kind of.. and she was like WELL FERNANDO IS MAKING FRENCH FRIES AND EGGS. YOU WANT? and I was like vale vale!

And then FERNANDO (host dad) was asking me questions, and I said 'Sí, sí' like I always do.. but ever since I came to Sevilla, I've sorta been saying 'Sí' like 'She' ... it's like a VERY QUIET shh sound but it's still audible..because I was under the impression that's how Spaniards speak.. they do something weird with their S's.. .BUT I GUESS I WAS DOING THE WRONG 'SOMETHING WEIRD' because my host dad was TEASING ME ABOUT IT. He's like 'Why are you saying 'she'?!' .. 'That's like 'ella' .. she she! It's SSSSí! Say it with me!' The funny thing is, he isn't the first one that's told me that.. there's been a couple others.. CLEARLY I'M DOING SOMETHING WRONG

heheheh

And then, so we had french fries and eggs for dinner, and then he set out wine glasses for both of us (which he's done before) to give me some wine! And mi abuela came in and was like 'Wow, no one else has it like this! We give you coca cola, wine, you come out to breakfast with me! None of the others have had this!' And I was like heheh Qué suerte, gracias :D :D :D

AHAHAH AND THEN MY HOST PARENTS LIKE JUST CREPT INTO MY ROOM AS IF THEY KNEW THEY WERE ABOUT TO DO SOMETHING 'BAD' .... So we had just watched that youtube video where the little ducklings are getting blown away by the wind, so we started talking about like.. the word for baby ducks in english is ducklings (patitos en espanol).. and then they started wondering about the words for other baby animals. And so they came into my room, and were like, 'Rachel.. the word for gatita (kitten)... is pussy?' and I was like HAHAH NO IT'S KITTEN! And they were like 'Ohhh pussy is a more ugly word' and I was like yeah it's a palabrota!! And then THEY KNEW EXACTLY WHAT IT MEANT looooooooool and they were like We were so curious! It's so interesting! And then they were like 'But kitty is another word for gatito.. like hello kitty!'

They're great!!! Everything's GREAT. SPANISH.
