JUST SENT AN EMAIL TO MY INTERCAMBIO PARTNER, JUAN. We got each other's information yesterday, and we're responsible for contacting each other and meeting up. EXCEPT when the program was talking about the intercambio program, they were joking about how it's NOT a dating service.. BUT THAT'S WHAT IT FEELS LIKE (especially when all my girl friends also got paired with spanish guys hahaha), and so now I feel weird loooool. I am pretty excited though.
In my email to him, I said like two times how bad I am at speaking and how I'm apologizing in advance. But apparently with intercambio, one hour is supposed to be all Spanish, the other hour is supposed to be English. So with any luck, he's just as bad at English as I am at Spanish. But here's the thing -
Confession Time. I TOOOOTALLY googled his name, and the only thing I could find was some LinkedIn profile that fit the description (I was only sent his full name and what he studies at school) - it said he was an Aeronautical Engineer and he is professionally proficient in like five languages and has lots of work experience balhablhablablhabablh and all I could think of was like OMG IM GOING TO BE INTERCAMBIOING WITH A GROWNUP. Because I'm a baby. booooo.
I hope that if Juan and I become friends he never finds my blog EVER because this will be the most creepy thing in the world.

But honestly despite everything that I'm saying, I'm really excited to have an intercambio partner, and I REALLY HOPE we become friends and he introduces me to his friends who are also spanish porque I would really love to be forced to speak more spanish.
EDIT: False alarm - the Juan I found on LinkedIn has a different last name (for one of them)... so now I'm clueless as to who mi compañero de intercambio is!
