I took so many pictures today...

So Nito took us on a 'practical tour' of Sevilla today - we got to see a lot of the architecture, and visited el Centro de Sevilla, que tiene muchas tiendas that we might need. Like I said, I took so many pictures. Figure I get all the touristy stuff out of the way while I can. I was stupid enough to wear my sandals so now my feet are killing me but WHATEVA.

And we learned how to take the metro. THE METRO IN SEVILLA is way prettier and cleaner than any metro I've seen in los EEUU. And there are like, doors surrounding the whole track that only open when a train stops so it like.. prevents jumpers? Which is actually a really smart idea.

Later tonight I'm gonna pick up my spanish phone so I can officially make plans with friends! And we're FINALLY gonna see the CIEE study center which I think is weird we haven't yet. But I also can't believe it's only been two days soooo.....

OH MY GOD and when I got home today mi 'hermano' Fernando told me that he saw me when I was with my tour group but I was across the street so he didn't yell my name. And i was like PROXIMA VEZ (next time!) and he's like Should I yell? (but in spanish and I'm just assuming that's what he said.. I'm pretty sure but still) and i was like SÍ. So now we're best friends. But I still have to give him and Carlos and el resto de la famila sus regalos!!!

Lunch is later, then probs una siesta, then hopefully I'll head over to La Calle Asunción to buy some ITEMS. I'm feeling better so far so here's hoping I'll be able to eat more. EL CALOR MATA!

Also... so even though I've been speaking a lot of English, I've also been hearing a lot of spanish (both tours today and yesterday were todo en español)... so my ear is really getting used to it. I think I can get by speaking it, I just don't have a big vocabulary. But I'm sure that will change once I start the Intensive Class. W0000

Dato Divertido - One of my first posts I wondered what 'cool' was in spanish. WELL it's 'guay' (for younger kids - like guh-why) or 'chulo' for older people to say. and SUPERGUAY o SUPERCHULO is super cool ;)

Also, 'girry' (spelling is probs completely off.. and the 'g' doesnt make a 'j' sound) is slang for foreigner, but it doesn't have a bad connotation like 'gringo' does. WE WERE CALLED GIRRYS YESTERDAY. Edit: it's spelled 'Guiri'

**Dato aún más divertido** - The word for 'peacock' in spanish is 'pavo real'. BUT THAT LITERALLY TRANSLATED TO ROYAL TURKEY. WHICH I FIND HILARIOUS.

I CANT BELIEVE I ACTUALLY FOUND A PICTURE OF A ROYAL TURKEY. ¿SUPERCHULO, NO?
