So we went to el Festival de Naciones again last night. And we saw one of the Ignacios from our Grupo de Interes! EXCEPT HERE'S THE STORY.
So the second time we met our interest group, for the flamenco lesson, there was a Spaniard there that I SWORE was this Ignacio person I'd met the first time except he'd gotten a haircut and shaved his facial hair. He didn't talk to us much (whereas he talked a lot the first night), and Alison and I were like hmm... but don't think much of it
THEN we go to this festival, and Alison is like 'ISN'T THAT IGNACIO FROM OUR GROUP?' And I turned around and it WAS, EXCEPT IT WAS THE IGNACIO FROM THE FIRST NIGHT - with longer hair and facial hair and everything. Which means that EVERYTHING I thought from Wednesday was a LIE, and that shaved guy was just a COMPLETELY DIFFERENT PERSON. So that was a weird thing to experience.
But yeah, the first time we saw Nacho at the festival, he didn't see us, and we were to awkz so we just kept walking around, and said we'd say hi next time.
BUT THE NEXT TIME WAS EVEN WORSE (for me) BECAUSE I WAS CAUGHT SO OFF GUARD. So we're just walking around, and Alison says 'There he is with his two friends, should we go over?' And I try to stealthily look but then WE MAKE EYE CONTACT but I pretend we don't and I look away and said 'Did he see me?' AND EVERYONE SAYS YES BUT BY NOW we're like hovering and awkward and I just need to escape. So I push everyone on, but then I'm just thinking about HOW AWKWARD I AM BEING so I go to turn around and by this time we're pretty far and I THINK he's looking again so I WAVE BUT I GOT NO WAVE IN RETURN. So that's when I run.
Just kidding about the running, but I did get kind of pushy. And I was like, 'Okay guys, this has been fun, I'm leaving Sevilla.. can't go back to our interest group now.. can't show my face in this city.. back to Connecticut for me..'
Then Brett asked if all girls overthink everything like this AND I WAS LIKE JUST THE TERRIBLY AWKWARD ONES LIKE ME.
And then she died of awkwardness. The end.
But actually minus that 30-second terrible experience the whole thing was pretty fun.
