Es la verdad. I'm trying out for the choir! I just have to learn a quick piece - the soprano part of O Jesu Christe by Berchem, they gave me a link to the sheet music and to listen to it. It's not that hard, I figure if I go over it everyday I'll be fine! It says on the sheet that I got that 'la prueba' (the test) is just to figure out what voice part you are.. and that it's only in front of the director of the choir, who will play piano along with you.
The only issue is that rehearsals are Monday and Thursday from 8:30 - 10, and my ONLY class on Monday POR SU-FUCKING-PUESTO (as I learned recently from Nito looooool) ends right at 8:30. And I'd have to walk from the CIEE Study Center to la Universidad MUY rápido, y sin la cena in between! boooo. But I think I'll still make it work. I really really REALLY hope I'll make lots of Spanish friends if I get in. THAT'S THE PLAN. I'm pretty sure it's some enormous choir soooooo hopefully some of the sopranos will adopt me as the token American friend trying DESPERATELY to speak Español. I would actually be completely fine with that. :D
So that's it. I saw Alcazar today, which was beautiful - lots of pictures obviamente. Tomorrow is the first day of my INTENSIVE SPANISH CLASS so hopefully that will also help with my speaking. It's from 3-6 which I feel like is such an awkward time but WHATEVER. We're going to 'el chino' (the store owned by chinese people, as sevillanos call it) to buy some notebooks and stuff for the FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL.
I can't believe I actually have to do school work now :P
